Event Concept & Stakeholder Buy-In

One notable project was the holiday event for Alibaba Group, where I led the entire process as Executive Producer. From initial ideation to pitching stakeholders, I developed comprehensive proposals that included budgets, visual concepts, creative direction, and strategies for reinforcing brand continuity and employee engagement. Multiple presentations were delivered to secure buy-in, emphasizing loyalty, morale, and a memorable employee experience.


Budgeting and Event Program Development

I built a detailed budget accounting for every aspect of the event, including entertainment, raffle, nonprofit partnerships and fundraising, auction activities, space design and props, executive presentations, and strategic community engagement. Each line item aligned with event goals, ensuring resources were optimized to maximize impact and deliver a seamless, high-quality experience.

 

Event Design and Installation

I led the creative design around the chosen theme, developing all visual elements and props from concept to installation. Vendors were carefully screened and selected, and I provided comprehensive design floor plans, prop specifications, and step-by-step installation instructions to ensure that the event space matched the creative vision perfectly.

 

Production and Live Event Execution

As live event director, I collaborated with the hired A/V production company to manage setup, coordinate all ROS (run-of-show) elements, and ensure flawless audiovisual execution. Interactive installations, electronic kiosks, and fundraising elements were integrated seamlessly to support entertainment and nonprofit initiatives, delivering a polished, engaging live experience.

Event Flow and Highlights

I designed the full event flow, coordinating a diverse range of experiences including a silent auction, arcade games, raffle, live music performances, wine bottle-making activity, executive presentations, employee recognitions and awards, and community fundraising initiatives.

A key highlight was a custom-produced opening video showcasing Alibaba’s global operations and expanding business lines across finance, e-commerce, technology, and investments. I led the scripting, production planning, and creation of the video, ensuring it aligned with the event narrative and reinforced the company’s global impact.

Impact
Successfully executed a fully immersive, large-scale corporate event from concept through live execution, strengthening employee engagement, reinforcing brand alignment, and fostering global team cohesion. The event delivered a visually compelling and memorable experience that highlighted Alibaba’s global reach and strategic initiatives, leaving a lasting impact on both employees and stakeholders.
